Erykah Badu went for a stripped-down approach for her new “Window Seat” video. In Europe, this probably wouldn’t have been a big deal, buttttt Ms. Badu chose to display her Eve-like state in a popular tourist spot in downtown Dallas, Texas as a precursor to her long awaited album, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh that dropped today.

Ms. Amerykah Badu took to Twitter two days ago talking about the video which she said was captured in one take. (Don’t think she’d want to do that naked thing twice). While taking to her birthday suit she said that she, “heard people yelling diff things @ me but i held my head up and kept moving. there were children there.i prayed they wouldnt b traumatized…

Badu has said that the “Window Seat” video was meant to spark a discussion of “groupthink” topics. Well..congrats Ms. Badu.

Holy Week

This week marks Holy Week that was kicked off with an amazing sermon by Bishop Charles E. Blake titled, When You Have to Do What You Don’t Want to Do. Many Christian churches observe Holy Week as time to commemorate and reenact the suffering and death of Jesus leading up to His resurrection through various observances and services of worship.

Something you might find useful while reflecting God’s love and the ultimate sacrifice are Google Earth’s attempt to show the locations of the major events (to the best of their knowledge) along with descriptions and biblical passages describing those events.

The image is from Google Map. Click here, and then click on each letter to the left to see a summary of the events for each day.

For more updates on Holy Week visit my blog for West Angeles where we will also be streaming our Good Friday service at 12:00PM on WebTV.

The Road Less Traveled

I find myself caught in a paradox of sorts…spiraling down towards a fork in the road. How does a person choose whether to go left or right? Does a darkened path typically mean death and destruction or are we fooled by its masquerade?

I find myself today locked with different options; consumed within my own mind and troubled by “what if’s” And since I feel as though I am the only doctor in a world of sociopaths, I have no one to help me diagnose my problem.

Have you ever found yourself stuck at a fork in the road without someone who you could trust to admit you innermost secrets and desires? What did you do when you found yourself caught up?

Pretty Lights

I love music, enjoy music, can't stay away from it...and since this Pretty Lights's song has been on MY MIND since I woke up this morning, I'd thought I'd share it. Pretty Lights is essentially the visions of Colorado based producer Derek Vincent Smith and drummer, Cory Eberhard. What makes me ubber excited and pro Pretty Lights is their approach to music. They have an organic feel fused with an electro meets funk tone. Not only are they on the move, but their music is completely downloadable for free. All they ask is a small donation. Enjoy!

I've been on an EXTREME workout kick to finally loose the baby weight and get back into an amazing shape. My workout's typically last from 1hr-1 and 20 minutes. But, taking a look CNN's website gave me an interesting take. According to CNN's chief Medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, you can workout at an intense right for 1 minute and rest immediately following for 1 minute and the same results. Take a look at the video:

Maybe I'll try this one on!

Debbie Meets Burger

Typically, I'm not one for gossip...however something seems wrong with this picture. Debbie Allen, most famous for her role as Lydia Grant in Fame
and owner of Debbie Allen's Academy apparently now condones eating at Burger King for her students at the academy. Why does this touch a sore spot you might ask? Well, despite a back injury that stopped me from dancing...I used to dance at the Academy a couple years ago and I can recollect a granola bar being slapped out of my hands by Madam Dallas. My oh my...how the times change.

Love Latte

Probably one of the best latte's in Los Angeles comes from this local cafe called Vee's Cafe where all the food is organic and they support local artists.

I've tried their breakfast burrito and Spicy Chicken Panini so far. The place is a slice of heaven in the midst of rubble paired with free wifi located on ::gasp:: Adams and Redondo! ahaha

The latte will run you $3.00 for the size of a Venti latte at Starbucks. "SweetHearts Latte" LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!
